New Downloads from OneThirty8 Posted by Darksaviour69 @ 18:59
OneThirty8 posted this in the Storm-Studiosforums:

I've converted the DirectDraw example of the Yeti3D engine to render and accept keyboard input via SDL. It compiles without changes for Windows (with Dev-C++), Mac OS X (Project Builder) and Dreamcast (I used Cygwin, but whatever.) I've included project files and a DC makefile.

Also, I put together a zip file of helpful tools. Some of these, like bitmap-to-texture converters, come from GP32 devvers. A couple other apps, like one that converts the binary texture and palette files into a C file, are by me.

Both zip files can be found at http://www.storm-studios.net/onethirty8/Yetistuff.html

New 3D Light gun game Posted by Darksaviour69 @ 15:29
Vorrtexx has posted over at consolevision forums, saying hes been working on a 3D Light gun game.
This is what he said about the game:
The game is an arcade shoot 'em up which is temporarily named RevolveR. It's a game similar to house of the dead/Virtua Cop, in that you play it with a lightgun or control pad where a lightgun is not an option. Although it's nowhere near as sophisticated as Virtua Cop, I wanted to develop something fun to play with, and also to bring the lightgun into the game. The game is set in Old Western Times so I tried to develop it with this theme in mind.

Hes looking 2 or 3 people with BBA's to test the game.

Programmer shortage at EA Canada! Posted by TheGypsy @ 15:32
[I'm bumping this to the top once more since EA is STILL actively searching for coders (and other positions). Seriously -- if you have the skills and interest, get a resume submitted!]

It seems that despite producing some of gamedoms most beloved titles such as FIFA, SSX, James Bond 007 and Need For Speed, EA Canada just can’t find enough talented programmers, designers and technical specialists. EA Canada is located in Vancouver and doesn't usually have problems arranging work visas. Anyone fitting the bill and is interested in career progression, variety and attractive compensation all within driving distance to Whistler should click here for more info.
